Girl Amsterdam

I’m Ramona, a photographer from Amsterdam using film. Currently I’m working on a new project, Girl Amsterdam, in which I crawl under the sheets with friends and friends of friends (and girls who contact me through facebook) in their typical Amsterdam homes, laying bare private moments. Their trust allows me to get close and reach a level of intimacy, honesty and realism that would be much more difficult to achieve with random strangers, which results in natural, candid pictures. My free work depicts my affection for people and the body – the interior and exterior, carnal desire, love, relationships, femininity, solitude, love-found and love-lost — the human condition. I get inspiration from our beloved city, popular culture with a touch of nostalgia for the past.
